George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire franchise has had several game adaptions recently, including real-time strategy game Game of Thrones: Genesis, upcoming MMO RPG Game of Thrones: Seven Kingdoms, and social game Game of Thrones: Ascent. But the next installment might follow an adventure game format with Telltale as the developer.

Unconfirmed sources revealed to game site IGN that Telltale is working on a "Game of Thrones title," but there are currently no details on whether the game would follow the books, Game of Thrones television show, or a new direction entirely. However, given Telltale's pedigree of episodic adventure games, it would only make sense that their next project would be in the same format.

Telltale is currently working on Fables adaption The Wolf Among Us as well as the next season in the Walking Dead franchise, both of which have been critically and commercially well-received. And the company has also said that they'd be open to working with the Star Wars franchise.

Dan Connors, Telltale co-founder, said last month, "We have so many people here that love Star Wars and have worked with the license so that would be a great fit and very cool." However, in the meantime, he revealed that the company is "working on a few licenses that definitely fall into our dream IP scenario and we can't wait to announce those." We expect official word on Game of Thrones and Telltale's other dream IP soon.
