New Black & Bruised details

We have new information on Majesco's upcoming cel-shaded brawler for the GameCube and PlayStation 2.

Comments

We recently had a chance to check out Black & Bruised, Majesco's upcoming cel-shaded boxing game. The game was a bit further along than when we last saw it, but it was still early. Initially slated to ship this year for the GameCube and PlayStation 2, the game is now expected to release early next year. The extra time is likely to help developer Digital Fiction polish the title, which is looking quite good on both platforms.

The game's cel-shaded, cartoony look is well done, and the eccentric cast of 18 characters sports a healthy dose of personality. The rings and the surrounding environments were well modeled, albeit a bit barren. The game looked quite good on both consoles and didn't feature any major graphical differences except a very slight color variation. In terms of gameplay, the game was still rough, although the fighters' various special and power moves had been implemented and were suitably eccentric.

Look for more on Black & Bruised soon.
