Bandai Namco Europe today revealed a new IP centered around confronting childhood fears.

Called Little Nightmares, the game has you assisting a girl wearing a yellow raincoat. She's trapped in the Maw, described as "a vast, mysterious vessel inhabited by corrupted souls looking for their next meal."

It's being developed by Tarsier Studios, an independent Swedish studio that previously contributed to a number of Media Molecule games, including LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway Unfolded.

"Little Nightmares symbolizes the evolution of our strategy to further strengthen the company portfolio with titles developed from all over the world," said Bandai Namco Europe marketing VP Herve Hoerdt. "As we continue to explore new ways to experience our IPs, we couldn't have found a better partner than Tarsier Studios to fulfill this vision and we're extremely proud to show their incredible talent to the world by publishing their first in-house project."

There are few details at the moment, as Bandai Namco plans to more fully reveal the game at Gamescom, which takes place next week in Germany. The company had previously teased it would show off a new IP "for a western audience" at the event.

For now, we have the brief description and teaser trailer above. We'll report back as we learn more about the game.
