During the February 2024 Nintendo Partner Direct, Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Stories is coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 this summer. It's a spin-off of the Monster Hunter series that focuses on turn-based combat at monster collecting similar to the Pokémon franchise.

This remaster boasts quite a few new features, including refined graphics with enhanced and improved modeling, as well as higher definition lighting. The original 3DS version didn't have any voiceovers at all, but the remaster will be fully voiced with both Japanese and English voices.

There will be additional language support too, including Chinese, Korea, Russian, Brazilian, Portuguese, Polish and Arabic. A newly added Museum mode allows players to check out the game's background music and developer sketches.

In Japan, the original 3DS version got regular title updates while the West didn't. The remaster changes that and now everyone will have access to previously unavailable content from the 1.20 and 1.30 title updates.

Monster Hunter Stories was first released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2016. Its sequel, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, was released in 2021 for Switch and PC.

In GameSpot's Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin review, we said, "While the title retains some of the series' hallmark elements, its emphasis on monster collecting and its fun turn-based battle system make it a decidedly different experience than Monster Hunter Rise, one that even those who've struggled to get into the proper Monster Hunter series can enjoy."
