Midway Prepares for Kombat

Mortal Kombat 4 is set for a release in late June, but Midway's already preparing for battle.

Mortal Kombat 4 may be more than a month away from reaching players' homes on the PlayStation and N64, but Midway has already launched an advertising campaign to raise awareness of the title. Additionally, the company is pricing the game at US$49.95 for both systems - a substantially lower price than the $60 norm for new N64 titles.

The advertising campaign began this past weekend, with showings of the MK movie on TBS. A music video-style spot will air four times during each of the five airings of the movie on TBS. But the big push will begin on June 29, the game's release date, and run through July 13. Spots will run during programs like South Park, Beavis & Butthead, Daria, WCW Thunder, Saved by the Bell, and Baywatch.
