While Midway may have choked on the critically panned multiplayer aspects of its John Woo-inspired gangster drama Stranglehold, the publisher hasn't abandoned the online-enabled maneuver just yet. Today, Midway announced a new map pack for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game will be available "soon" in North America.

Included in the map pack will be 10 additional maps and 21 new multiplayer character skins. Sample locations to be included as part of the update include Kowloon Market, Wong's Estate Grounds, and the rooftops of Chicago. The map pack will confer an added bonus to Xbox 360 gamers, as 10 new achievements totaling 250 achievement points will also be added to the game.

Midway has not yet priced the map pack or dated its arrival.

I really hate when the release DLC for a game that has completely lost it's hype. They should release DLC like a month after it releases. Keep the hype going. Then make it free a month later. This just plain stupid.

From what you guys are saying, they should try and patch the game. I'm no advocate for releasing buggy software, but with today's tech you CAN fix things post release if something slips through the cracks.

But no one is playing the bloody game online? At least the PC version. There has literally not been a single person online when I've tried to play it. So how about developing some episodic content or additions to singleplayer instead? They could whip up a ripoff of Dead Man Walking in Max Payne 2 and implement leaderboards. I'm sure that'd be infinitely more popular. Add the ability for the user to customize object/enemy placement and you could create your own sets. Add the ability to upload and download these sets and you could have some Game 2.0 **** going on. Allow the user to change the posprecessing effects and tune the slow motion. Like regular slowdown, slowdown when a gun's fired, bullet hits, an enemy dies, an explosion...explodes and such. And a bullet-time soundtrack, custom soundtrack. And for the PC version, the ability to walk. It's not cool to run, pansies run, badasses walk. Oh and more explosions. So that's what I want, make it happen Midway, dammit.

midway is in big trouble, with their recent failures. This game was one of them, it was hugely advertised, and then it did not fair very well. I liked it, but the reviewers did not. They NEED some free content first, to show their fans that they will not abondon them on the games they buy, and 2nd, to give more people a reason to buy the game!

@omrikk87: Agreed... this game may have been interesting a decade ago, but these are new times and we need more than the same couple of actions repeated over and over... it may have been forgivable if it didn't look like a PS2 game.

I rented this for 360 about a month ago and could NEVER find anyone to play w/ online...Max of 4 or 5 people on at a time...

Haha, what a laugh, nobody plays the online multiplayer, and I know because I've constantly tried to find someone to play. The only people who play are those who meet up in forums and arrange to play Stranglehold multiplayer, only to help each other earn achievement points. So I can really only see X360 gamers making anything of this, soley for the achievements. And they'll either go back to playing the single player campaign or retire it on the shelf while they play Call of Duty 4... but it's still an awesome single player game, don't get me wrong, I love it.

Great...Nice to see midway are trying to improve strangleholds multi player, i always thought stranglehold was a good game that was just laking in the online content. Hopefully this pack will improve it.

There's no way i'd pay for those with the shape the multiplayer is in. Unbalanced tequila bomb powers, bullet lag, glitches. With such poor multiplayer they should be paying me to play the new content.
