While Midway may have choked on the critically panned multiplayer aspects of its John Woo-inspired gangster drama Stranglehold, the publisher hasn't abandoned the online-enabled maneuver just yet. Today, Midway announced a new map pack for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game will be available "soon" in North America.

Included in the map pack will be 10 additional maps and 21 new multiplayer character skins. Sample locations to be included as part of the update include Kowloon Market, Wong's Estate Grounds, and the rooftops of Chicago. The map pack will confer an added bonus to Xbox 360 gamers, as 10 new achievements totaling 250 achievement points will also be added to the game.

Midway has not yet priced the map pack or dated its arrival.
