Metro: Last Light Faction Pack DLC out next week

DLC pack featuring three new single-player missions is out on July 16 in North America; July 17 in all other regions.

by

Publisher Deep Silver has announced that it will be releasing new DLC for its first-person shooter Metro: Last Light next week for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

Become one of three deep dwellers from various Metro factions.

The DLC, dubbed "The Faction Pack", includes three new single-player missions that assign players as different characters from each warring faction of the game. The playable characters are a special detachment sniper from the Red Line, a Reich "Heavy" unit, and a Polis ranger in training.

Players will be checking out previous locations from Metro 2033, using new weapons and combating returning mutant types from the original game. The DLC will be out on July 16 in North America, and July 17 for the rest of the world on Steam, Xbox Live, and PlayStation Network.

Anxiously awaiting this. I enjoyed it more than that Bioshock crap.

while this will probably be good I was kind of hoping for a multiplayer mode when I heard factions. If done right, it could be awesome.

Give us money to unlock a game mode(which is just a registry tweak on your own computer)!

Give us money so we can unlock the content you paid the original $60 for!

This will be sweet! More Metro is always a good thing!

Sweet, I'd love an excuse to get back to the Metroverse.

I loved both Metro games and will definitely get this, I was planning on replaying Last Light anyway.

But is THIS DLC "the way the game is meant to be played"?

I hope it's good, more Metro is welcome.

Good game but doesn't merit a 9. I would rate it at an 8.

Where the heck is my Bioshock Infinite DLC?! >.<

Always wanted to play as a Reich ally, but instead I get to play for the faction itself!

I hope they add new game plus to one of the DLC packs... I love games with new game plus because the guns I get later in the game feel redundant to me because I don't feel like I've used them by the time it's over.

And the DLC just keeps on coming.

This game had nothing on 2033. Such a let down. Also, they forgot to tell part of the story line; due to radiation, the Humans became blind and couldn't see 2m in front of themselves.

At least... that the way it seemed.

Too bad i finished and uninstalled the Game some time ago, a im not sure if it will be worth booting it up for just a 3 Hour DLC.

@RC-Sev me too I think they have cool gear :D I also always played as the germans in the CoD United Offensive MP, they had the best weapons IMHO.

@jackzor123 Agreed. But I really missed it in Bioshock Infinite more than Metro Last Light. Because you get some really cool powers at the end of Bioshock :)

@andmcq I agree that the stealth mechanics where overly powerful in 2034. But 2033's instant all-enemies-know-exactly-where-you-are was much more annoying and cheap imo.

@andmcq If you are blind you don't see a thing ... not only at 2m. And where was that in book, I don't remember that thing.

@roman4545 @19James89 If people like you are prepared to pay $60 for half a game and then spend $$$ more on DLC be my guest, I certainly haven't and never will buy any DLC.

andmcq

@kagento @andmcq I never found that the enemies knew exactly where I was. They kind knew, as much as a normal human would in my experience (not to say everyone had the same experience though). 2034s AI was just atrocious, they were just completely blind it was so bad.

And you are just beeing rambunctious.

Good on you, lad.

@DarkSaber2k @FCT-Steve-O lol...it was a legitimate question because you two morons thought it wasn't in the season pass. I assumed you read it somewhere so I had to go look it up for myself and then edited my post.

DarkSaber2k

@FCT-Steve-O Could have just said "Yes it is in the pass" right from the start rather than being facetious, couldn't you.

@DarkSaber2k @FCT-Steve-O @thequickshooter where does it say season pass doesn't include this one?

The Season Pass is for the ultimate Metro fan. It is a discounted pre-purchase for future Metro downloadable content. With its purchase you will receive:

  • The Faction Pack
  • The Tower Pack
  • The Developer Pack
  • The Chronicles Pack

@19James89

actually I might be the same like you about the DLC as I never bought any of them except from packages like GOTY or Complete Edition etc... but..  as DLC they are not half a game.. they are mostly like called expansion or extended game to give you further stuff for it.

Last Light was taken off the Ranger mode..  but this is not called half a game just because hard mode is not there.... that is like saying a human being is missing an eye or arm so therefore its a half of a human being ??? And who said you need to play hard mode to enjoy the game ???

@yourdem1ze Thanks for missing the point entirely and thanks for the insult, it's much appreciated. Where have I said I want 'free-content'? I haven't. When I pay £39.99 I expect the full game, not half the game and then I have to spend another £12.99 x 3 to get the entire game. As far as I am concerned DLC is a scam and I want no part of it. If people want to buy DLC then go ahead, that's their prerogative, I just refuse to pay anymore than £40 for a single game. I am not made of money and would rather put the £12.99 or whatever the price of the DLC package towards another game.

@19James89 @roman4545 You expect developers to give you free content after the game has come out ? Welcome to 2013 where artists want money for their work. Ungrateful scumbag.

@kagento @andmcq 2033 had every soldier in a fifteen kilometer radius know where you are instantly if you so much as dropped a fart. 2034 went the other way... still havent found that stealth sweet spot but its better than 2033.

kagento
kagento

@andmcq In 2033, as soon as 1 soldier caught a glimpse of you, they would go berserk and rally towards your position, which personally I found annoying because it left no space for "one attack here, hide, another attack there" as well as ruining my immersion. In 2034 they went too far and it turned out too easy to go past humans...
Well, hopefully they'll find a middle ground for the 3rd installment. :)
