Included in the collection are the PS2 hits Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3; the PSP's Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker; and the MSX origin titles Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Konami has said that Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and Peace Walker have all been upgraded to 60-frame-per-second high-definition visuals. Peace Walker's online mode has also been included, allowing players to battle against opponents or team up in co-op mode.

The stealth action series, helmed by feted developer Hideo Kojima, started with Metal Gear in 1987 on the MSX2 and comprises more than 20 titles. The most recent release in the series is Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which debuted in 2010 to critical acclaim.

[UPDATE]: Konami has since confirmed that Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will launch November 8 in North America.
