Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance coming to PC "very soon"

Kojima Productions confirms Windows version of action gaming hitting "sooner than you anticipate."

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for PC is in the final stages of development and is coming to the platform "very soon," according to Kojima Productions staffers speaking during the company's latest Alert podcast.

"Yes, it's coming, and it's coming sooner than you anticipate actually," a Kojima Productions representative said. "Rising on PC is not canceled. It's in the final stages right now. You'll be seeing it pop up on Steam any day now."

Developed by Kojima Productions and Platinum Games, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for PC is described as the "full game." It will run at 60 frames-per-second on PC, though no other PC-specific features were announced.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance launched for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in February. Platinum Games previously stated that it is interested in making games for the PC and publishing them through Valve's Steam downloadable games service.

yay.

Sloppy seconds on a platform action game.

If you wanted to play it you probably played it on the PS already.

So if you're slightly good at hack n slash games this should take you 5 hours to finish. 7 if you're a  completionist. Of course you can replay on harder difficulty but the mechanics of the games are too easy to offer a real challenge.

Each DLC is 1 hours long. Not worth 60$ in my opinion. Maybe a rent, or on a 30$ sales.

So they're pretty much going quietly releases on steam. Why?

ok, Kojima, you want to impress me?

Put metal gear 1,2,3,4 and 5 on PC. I know 2 is already on PC, just saying. As a collection on STEAM. Also Konami put all the Silent Hills on STEAM to and remake the original Silent Hill.

If you remake the original Silent Hills 1 and 2 adn the orginal Dino crysis's and Resident Evils, i will be super duper impressed.

Putting Final fantasy 7 and 8 and Pro evolution soccer 2014 on STEAM is a start.

hope they do even more graphical updates for the PC version

Underrated game. The part where you can hear what the soldiers are thinking as you are killing them was seriously hair raising. One of the most memorable gaming moments in 2013 fo sho.

I'm sorry for being such a "Negative-Nelly"; but... does anybody care?

I quite enjoyed this on the xbox but felt it lacked content. Since trading it I kinda feel like giving it another shot. If the PC comes with any extra features I might pick it up.

With the controls being as they are with the semi-aiming when slashing attacks, I imagine hold right mouse button to go into aim mode would work very well for this game.

Me being useless as a 'pad-aimer' really didn't take well to the '360 controls-- and frankly, I wan't my games to run in 1080p.

Just give us some HD textures: maybe even tessellation?

Is it so difficult for companies these days to give dates out? It's almost a mental block, or a compulsion to which no cure exists-- in their absolute need to obfuscate consumers with worthless bits of 'information'.

I don't see how annoying customers is good for business.

Almost a year after console release.. and they are still saying its coming very soon....:/

Kinda bit too late now. I waited this for PC, but just played the PS+ one. One thing to say for these publishers, if you are going to make PC version, make it day one, no one cares to pay full retail of two years old game.

The PC version of Revengeance has got to be some of the worst marketing I've ever seen.

Im in for ports like this , they actually work for PC optimization. Not like Shit Souls. If you want to see quality games dont buy shitty games like Dark Souls or GTA or anything that they dont even optimize game for PC.

Let them work for it. Just like Full Burst or Injustice or like this. Im happy with strategy genre but sometimes spending couple of hours on these kinda games relaxes.

If they release the main series on PC...I'd have no reason to go out and buy a PS4...buuuut if not I am a crazy enough fanatic to drop the 400 just to play MGS

Pfft, this game originally launched like a year ago didn't it?  Sooner than I anticipated is many months past.

Bet they still try to sell this at full price too...I'll have to wait for a Steam sale myself.

Today? I anticipate it to be released on PC today. Is it sooner than that?

If this does well on Steam, then you can probably expect more ports from Platinum as well. Bayonetta was one of the best H&S last gen, along with a fun brawler like Anarchy Reigns. Not to mention the crazy Vanquish.

Ahhh...thank God!, I was beginning to think it was delayed or canceled. :)

I personally love the fact that the games come out on consoles with flaws and everything, then it comes out later on PC with less bugs, better graphics, more support, higher frame rates, at half the price.

Unless you're one of these people that *needs* to play absolutely everything the week it comes out, it's really the best of all worlds.  Same thing for Castlevania; it's just perfect for people like me.

Probably will buy it, if not at $30, then at the $15 it will be a month later :)

Also, resident evil, Dino crisis, and final fantasy have nothing to do with konami.

@gamefreak215jdI hope so, but I'm far from sure. MGS hasn't been much on PC in recent years.

billzihang

@MrAVKVThis is nothing new. PC ports that release months after (or even years) tend to just pop up out of nowhere.

It might be part of the fact that because us PC gamers - tend - to be somewhat older, flashy adverts with dubstep don't quite have the same effect.

Plus being on the Steam main page is advertisement enough-- Steam is pretty much the central hub of PC gaming these days.

@arqe GTA was an abysmal port and I'm totally with you on that, but Dark Souls is a different story. Dark Souls was never intended to release on the PC. The port wasn't planned or budgeted for and the fact that the game saw light of day on PC's in any form is a courtesy of the developers responding positively to the massive online petitions by pushing a port through on skeletal funding. That they were unfamiliar with PC porting is unforunate, but fan-made patches have solved most of the glaring issues and, because of the huge show of support from PC gamers, Dark Souls 2 PC is being developed alongside its console versions.

So yes, it's important to vote with your dollar, but it's equally important to know what your dollar is voting for.

Graphics?  Pfeh.  Graphics are what console gamers think PC Gamers care about.

@Revenant_K@naryanrobinson Dark Souls was a rushed and direct port. They didn't hide the fact either, so the fans kinda knew what to expect.

Now that Dark Souls 2 is developed with PC in mind as well, it should be better.

naryanrobinson
naryanrobinson

@Revenant_K @naryanrobinson Until you download the tiny mod file that unlocks the frame rate, boosts the resolution to 1080p, lets you modify the graphics settings, and makes the it best version of the game.
