Xbox 360 gamers looking to get more out of BioWare's critically adored Mass Effect 2 can download the game's latest mission content next week, as well as enjoy significant discounts on more than 20 Live Arcade games. Also hitting the store are two Games on Demand titles, as well as another batch of Avatar wear.

First revealed in mid-May, Mass Effect 2's Overlord add-on content will arrive on the marketplace June 15 for 560 Microsoft points or $7. The content adds five planets to the galaxy, each of which is explorable using the Hammerhead tank, a vehicle first introduced in the game's Firewalker pack. The add-on will, according to BioWare, improve on the Mako driving missions of the first Mass Effect game, a sore spot for some users.

For the thrifty gamer, Microsoft is enacting its second blowout sale next week, slashing the price of games anywhere from 33 to 53 percent. The on-sale items and their new prices are listed below and are effective June 16-22. In addition, next week's Deal of the Week includes price reductions on Shadow Complex, Trials HD, Splosion Man, and others. That sale begins Monday, June 14, and titles affected are denoted with *.

The Games on Demand library grows next week with the addition of two 2008 releases. Microsoft has confirmed that Lego Batman: The Video Game and Mercenaries 2: World in Flames will arrive June 15, but did not specify a price point for either.

Avatar Marketplace items arriving next week include Adidas' Soccer Shop collection and Mass Effect 2 tie-ins. The items were not specified, but with the World Cup kicking off June 11, and Adidas one of the tournament's sponsors, it's likely the soccer attire will be in some way related.
