E3 2023 may not be going forward, but summertime gaming events are still coming. THQ Nordic has announced plans for its summer gaming showcase, and it's coming this August.

The THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2023, as it's called, will air on Friday, August 11, starting at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET that day. That works out to 8 PM in parts of Europe and 5 AM in parts of Australia on August 12.

THQ Nordic subsidiary HandyGames will kick off the festivities with a pre-show that highlights its own titles before the main event begins. Whether or not 12 PM PT is the start time for the pre-show or the main event wasn't made clear in THQ Nordic's announcement.

In any event, THQ Nordic said fans can look forward to "a whole host of game announcements and project updates" during the event. THQ Nordic said fans of Alone in the Dark, Outcast 2, and Trine 5 will want to tune in, while there should be surprises and other reveals, too.

The THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2023 will air online via YouTube, Twitch, and Steam. There will also be a separate version featuring copyright-free music on other THQ channels. Keep checking back with GameSpot for more as the event draws closer.

2022's event brought news of the new Alone in the Dark game and the first reveal of a new South Park video game. Additionally, new trailers for Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed and SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake debuted at the showcase.

Other summertime gaming shows include Summer Game Fest 2023 on June 8, followed by the Xbox Games Showcase on June 11. This will be immediately followed by a Starfield Showcase.
