Jaleco, publisher of the upcoming Lowrider game due for the PS2 in November, and Primedia, special-interest publisher of Lowrider Magazine, announced a cross-promotion deal.

Under the terms of their agreement, Jaleco acquires the right to use the official Lowrider Magazine logo in its game, and on packaging and marketing materials, while Lowrider Magazine and its Web site will promote Jaleco's game. Additionally, Jaleco will sponsor the "Go-Lo" Lowrider Legends Tour 2003 Super Show in Las Vegas on October 5.

Primedia signed a similar deal with ValuSoft, a division of THQ and publisher of the recently released Hot Rod: American Street Drag. The game featured a similar licensing deal for Primedia's Hot Rod Magazine, whose editors served as advisers for the game.

Available as Lowrider Round The World since December 2002 in Japan, Jaleco's Lowrider is a rhythm action game with several disciplines based on the motorsport. The game lets players purchase 20 cars that can then be upgraded in 18 categories. The upgraded cars then compete against other vehicles in hops, dances, and cruise shows.
