Links tournament finals next week

Four PC golfers will compete for a $50,000 grand prize in the 2001 Links Virtual Golf Association Tour Finals this coming Tuesday.

On November 20, four finalists will compete for a $50,000 grand prize in the 2001 Microsoft Links Virtual Golf Association (VGA) Tour Finals at the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Fla. The event celebrates the launch of Microsoft's latest PC golf game, Links Championship Edition , and it will be hosted by LPGA star Annika Sorenstam.

The VGA finalists are Paul Willey of Bangor, Maine; George P. Pallas of Arcadia, Calif.; William Crouch of Thorntown, Ind.; and Ricky Morris of Cambridgeshire, England. More than 22,000 people from more than 10 countries participated in the 2001 VGA Tour, up from 12,000 players in the 2000 VGA Tour. This year's VGA Tour included three preliminary tournaments in June, July, and August. From the preliminaries, the top 70 players advanced to a semifinal event. The four top finishers now advance to the finals.
