A leaked 150-page bug log for Grand Theft Auto V is said to show over 170 references to a PC version of the game, with the mentions beginning way back in June 2012.

PC Gamer scrubbed and analysed the log file, which is said to have been in circulation since last September but was only recently hosted publicly, and temporarily, on a Google Drive account.

Choice excerpts include mentions of DX11 effects and a "lastgen" toggle, alongside instances of PC-specific crashes that require ironing out.

A petition to bring Grand Theft Auto V to PC has now crossed 650,000 signatures.

At this point it's probably worth remembering that every other main Grand Theft Auto game has made it to PC eventually, with the series opting for staggered PC releases since Grand Theft Auto III.

Grand Theft Auto V was released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in September 2013, made $1 billion in three days, and has gone on to sell 29 million copies.
