Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris Special Edition Announced, Includes Lara Figurine

The Gold Edition includes several real-world items and some in-game content, as well.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris was announced at E3 in June, and developer Crystal Dynamics showed off how you'll be able to team up with three of your friends to take on tombs and dungeons. It's a top-down adventure-platformer starring the iconic protagonist from Tomb Raider, Lara Croft.

Today, Crystal Dynamics announced the special edition of the game and it focuses on Lara Croft. Temple of Osiris Gold Edition includes in-game content and several real-world items, most notably a 3-inch figurine of Lara Croft. The figure is a caricature compared to the more rugged and realistic Lara from the last Tomb Raider game.

The Gold Edition also includes a physical map of the game's overworld and an art book. According to the press release, the book showcases "never-before-seen concept art from the development team."

Finally, you'll also get the game's season pass, which gets you both of the DLC content packs that'll be released. These packs bring six costumes, new tombs to explore, and new gear and weapons to collect.

Temple of Osiris is also getting three retailer-specific preorder bonuses, which you can see below.

  • Digital Preorders through Steam, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live: The Hitman Pack, which includes Hitman-themed skins and a ring that increases weapon and bomb damage.
  • Preorders through Amazon: The Deus Ex Pack, which includes Deus Ex skins and a ring that lowers the cost of treasure chests.
  • Preorders through GameStop: The Lara Croft Legend Pack, which includes Tomb Raider skins and a ring that gives you health regeneration and a more powerful torch.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris launches on December 9 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. You can check out our preview of the game here.

Would still prefer more Alien Swarm dammit. It's still just weird to play "Lara Croft" like this.

Great, they not even released the game and are already selling DLCs.

am i the only one tired of sequels, remakes or redux?

i'm 50 years old and during my long life of gamer (started with a sinclair zx81 with 1 ki memory) i played almost 80% of all the games ever made, i'm allergic to sport games.

and the poor argument next gen only make me laugh, as if last gen consoles were unable to run this poor diablo clone.

i own an acer predator 2 with last gen intel i7 and nvidia 680 gtx, so please stop insult our intelligence with such poor news.

the only sequel i want to see is system shock 3, and no special edition with a crappy and so kitch exclusive statue or so called artbook.

we wont get fooled again...

Even though Crystal Dynamics did the first Lara Croft, and it was awesome, after Tomb Raider, I'm pretty apprehensive about seeing them developing anything. Tomb Raider looked like a game that was made using a checklist.

Me and my best friend enjoyed guardian of light a lot, now we'l enjoy with 4 player coop :)

I don't know what I find more depressing; the fact that the real Lara Croft has been relegated to a stupid isometric co-op game, or that the mainline Tomb Raider games feature an imposter known as Camilla Luddington.  Crystal Dynamics is running Lara Croft into the muck.  Makes me sick.  First Devil May Cry, and now this.

Far better than Sacred 3. And is not even out yet.

Color me intrigued, I LOVED the first game. A cool way to keep the classic style of Tomb Raider by reinvisioning if it took a more classic style to its formula in the first place. All the while keeping the reboot at the same time.

Bleh, stupid big head statue.....why not make one based on the AWESOME lara model on the far right ?

Great! Now just announce Wii U and/or Linux support and your money is mine.

Think I'm going to be enjoying the Lara Croft games way more than the Tomb Raider ones. First Lara Croft was great, and had great coop. Now it only needs a loot system and better character growth.

Looks alright but seriously... who was asking for this?

Oh joy, the collectors edition comes with a season pass.

wtf does this game need a season pass for?

So basically a four player version of Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light.

Why doesn't Lara look sexy and have highly rendered boobs on the image above^?

And why is her head looks bigger than her body?

Looks as bad as Lara Croft & The Guardian of Light. Love the Tomb Raider games but not these weird things.

Is the game releasing on disc?

Some journalist over at IGN thought the gold edition was exclusive to ps4.  Why the hell would Sony buy exclusive content to this game??  Sure its a cool game and all but this game isnt BIG enough to put big money into it from a console company for extra junk..

"retailer-specific preorder bonuses" Oh, are those words like honey to my ears, in that it'll impair my hearing, feel awfully sticky and make want to get rid of it right away.

Not sure about this.  The last Lara was a poor man's uncharted, inferior in every way but still a little entertaining.  They need to do much better with this next one.

I was hoping they'd include a 3" bust figurine of Lara, with heavy emphasis on the bust part.

this game sucks because coop shouldn't be in this game.

@picho86 "Crystal Dynamics did the first Lara Croft?"  What?

YoshioKST

@Chr0noid So the fact the series survived Angel of Darkness and is now back to being a prevalent, noteworthy franchise that rivals Uncharted in quality is depressing?
And don't you call the Lara Croft spinoffs 'stupid isometric', Guardian of Light is one of the best best the PS3 has to offer.

@Chr0noid Guardian of Light was praised across the board. The fact that you don't like the genre, doesn't make it "crappy".

Vodoo

You are simply out of your mind. The Tomb Raider reboot was the BEST Tomb Raider game of all time, by a long shot. I played the originals back on the PS1 also. Not to mention the digital game Guardian of Light was pretty fun as well. Sounds like someone has a deeply wedged stick they need to remove.

If you actually PLAYED either of these games you wouldn't be saying what your saying. If you did play them, then you have no taste in good games. Either way, youchave no business flapping your gums like that.

@Chr0noid Reboot is awesome, As for this and previous game it's quite fun especially in coop.

we get next tomb raider soon also so i don't see anything to rage about on side game.

hystavito

@razor_rj I was wondering about that.  Maybe some weird thing with the actress not allowing them to make it for this edition?  Who knows, maybe it's just cheaper to make the caricature style.

@endorbr Everybody who played the awesome Guardian of Light.

@endorbr Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light > Tomb Raider 2013, so I'm totally fine with that.

JAZ117

@frostdiamond As far as statue terminology goes, a bust is just the neck and head of a person.  So, no emphasis on her bust.

@Nightelf123 Gaming is becoming two things: a service and a party thing.

Neither is particularly good. The first is quite bad and ridiculous, the other has it's moments, it's cool to drink a few beers and have  a few laughs, but quite bad if you want immersion and be interested in what is going on.

@Vodoo  He has no business expressing an opinion?  Really?  I mean, geez, it's not even an opinion I agree with, but I still feel like your response to it was completely out of line.  It's entirely possible to disagree with someone without personally insulting them.

razor_rj

@hystavito @razor_rj  They dont use her likness in the game, and that is an older model from aniversary ediiton, they did the same with hitman absolution i was specting a nice pak figura and they tossed one of those vynil toys

razor_rj

@brandonmshanks @razor_rj That's not the same lara at all, the link you posted is the new rebooted lara, i'm talking about the aniversary lara wich is the base for this game,

Agree to disagree. I played both and I found Guardian of Light to be fun but overall kind of forgettable.
