While DC have announced all the superhero movies we can expect to see from them over the next few years, the villains that these heroes will face remains largely unknown. The first part of Justice League is now shooting, and the identity of that film's main bad guy has potentially been revealed.

BDM have reported that the iconic superhero team will be facing Steppenwolf in the upcoming team-up. Steppenwolf is one of New Gods within DC mythology, a fictional race of superbeings first introduced in the early 1970s.

According to BDM, Steppenwolf has already appeared on screen, in a deleted scene from the recent Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Check it out below:

The events of Dawn of Justice strongly hinted that Darkseid would be the villain of Justice League. However, BDM suggests that DC are holding that character back for one of the subsequent movies in their cinematic universe. In the comic books, Steppenwolf is actually Darkseid's uncle.

Of course, this is just rumour for now, and nothing has been confirmed by DC or their parent company Warner.

Justice League Part One is set for release on November 16, 2017. Before that, we have Suicide Squad this August, and Wonder Woman in June 2017.
