Grammy award-winning American rapper, producer, and entrepreneur Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter will serve as executive producer on NBA 2K13, Take-Two has announced. The media mogul will lend "artistic vision" to the professional basketball simulator, which includes curating the game's 24-song soundtrack.

"I'm ready to usher in the new era of the franchise," Jay-Z said in a statement.

According to Take-Two, Jay-Z's "artistic vision and style will permeate the experience", influencing the overall look of the game, the soundtrack, and even the in-game menus.

Gamers can find out for themselves just how Jay-Z affected development of NBA 2K13 when the game hits store shelves on October 2 in North America and October 5 internationally for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii, and PC. A Wii U version is in the works, and will arrive sometime this holiday season.

NBA 2K13's soundtrack is made up of 24 songs, six of which are from Jay-Z. Tunes by Coldplay, Daft Punk, Kanye West, U2, and others make up the rest of the soundtrack. The full song list for NBA 2K13 is below.
