Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced that beginning in November, a demo of its upcoming PlayStation 2 game Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy will be available to Cingular Wireless customers. Consumers activating Cingular service with an Ericsson phone or purchasing any Ericsson accessory will receive a demo disc of the game and a $5-off coupon for the game's retail copy. Additionally, Cingular is leveraging the game for a variety of promotional initiatives, including distributing more than 1.5 million of its prepaid cards with Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy characters.

"Sony Computer Entertainment America is delighted to be working with Cingular Wireless and Ericsson, both leaders in their respective industries that consistently deliver the highest-quality products and services to their customers,'' said Sharon Shapiro, director of promotions for Sony Computer Entertainment America. "Our three-way partnership will enable us to reach out beyond our traditional consumer base with a unique offer that brings the best in video gaming, mobile, and wireless communications together under one roof.''

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy will be released for the PlayStation 2 on December 11.
