I Am Alive hits XBLA House Party March 7

Microsoft dates, prices seasonal slate of downloadable releases; Alan Wake's American Nightmare debuts February 22.

Microsoft can finally start printing up fliers, as the lineup and pricing for this year's Xbox Live Arcade House Party series of featured releases has been finalized.

I am alive. This guy won't be for long.

Electronic Arts' Warp will kick off the festivities February 15. Priced at 800 Microsoft points ($10), the Trapdoor-developed game puts players in control of the teleporting alien Zero as it attempts to escape from an underwater laboratory.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare will follow on February 22 with a 1,200 Microsoft points ($15) asking price. In the follow-up to Remedy's 2010 horror action game, the titular author journeys to another remote town full of spooky secrets. There, he faces off against a new supernatural villain, Mr. Scratch, and the two do battle using the powers of light (for Wake) and dark (for Scratch).

THQ will mark the leap year with the release of Nexuiz on February 29. A multiplayer-only first-person shooter, the game also features dynamic mutators that can modify the game mid-match, with effects that turn the screen black and white or force players to get by with inverted controls. Nexuiz will sell for 800 Microsoft points ($10).

Ubisoft's long-awaited survival action game I Am Alive will bring the party to a close on March 7. Originally announced at the 2008 Electronic Entertainment Expo, I Am Alive tells the story of an everyman who has lost his wife and daughter during a mysterious but cataclysmic event. This man returns to his hometown, Haventon, a year later to find the city in ruins, with its inhabitants taking "necessary actions" to survive. I Am Alive will sell for 1,200 Microsoft points ($15).

I Want 'I Am Alive' - but it does not look like it has a lot of replay value ... and as a digital download, there is no resell. Guess I will have to wait for the reviews then.

I hope this does not mean that I Am Alive will be a lesser game because it is XBOX live only. I have been waiting for this game for a long time, and liked the original idea that it takes place right after a disaster, and would be a full on disk game. I don't have xbox live so I don't know what I will do in this case.

I'll definitely be getting Alan Wake on day one.

I was looking forward to I Am Alive, then I saw Nexuiz was coming to the 360.

I'm really interested to see how I Am Alive turns out, especially knowing that it will be even cheaper than I thought it would be.

@MERCUTIO665 hah, yeah I get it. :) However, if they really wanted it to be about 'every-man' or however they put it, I don't think the 'every-man' would be climbing random sides of buildings and steel structures or sliding down a ten story steel cable for no apparent reason. I do agree that the game looks good, it's just not what I was expecting after seeing the teaser trailer on XBL Marketplace a couple days ago. This game reminds me of Resident Evil 5, only less zombies and more post-apocalyptic with a large helping of "Uncharted" mix in there.

I Am Alive looks like it definitely has some great ideas behind it. Hope the execution is as smooth as I'm imagining. $15 is just really cheap...

@ Landsharkk You think you'd be able to survive the apocalypse without climbing some obstacles? :P I think it looks interesting at the very least. Sort of a different take. I didn't know it was a PSN/XBL title and not AAA before today. At $15 I'm sure it'll be well worth the money.

I was hoping I Am Alive would be a slight bit more action and multiplayer based. It does look like a good game, but after watching the above video it's now a pass for me. It seems the focus is more about climbing obstacles than surviving an apocalypse.

I really loved Alan Wake, so I'll be sure to check out American Nightmare. I Am Alive also looks to be an intriguing experience. Great way to kick off the year in downloadable titles :)
