Huge Ark Update Out Now On PS4 And Xbox One

The dinosaur game's massive Tek Tier patch has landed on consoles.

Following its launch for PC, Ark: Survival Evolved's new update launched today on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Tek Tier update, as it's called, adds a lot of new weapons, gear, and the ability to cut your hair and do crazy things such as fly around like Iron Man or put a laser on a dinosaur's head.

Now Playing: Ark: Survival Evolved - Tek Tier Trailer

Developer Studio Wildcard also confirmed today that Ark: Survival Evolved has surpassed 1 million copies sold on PlayStation 4. The game was the best-selling digital title on PSN in December (its launch month) and January. On PlayStation 4, the game is available through the Survivor's Pack, which includes the base game and the Scorched Earth expansion for $55; it is currently on sale for $44.

As of August 2016, Ark: Survival Evolved had sold 1.5 million copies on Xbox One and 4 million on PC.

Ark: Survival Evolved's big commercial success comes before the game is even finished, as in-development versions of the game are all that are available right now. The final version of the game is scheduled to be available on all platforms later this year.
