In his post-Konami life, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is trying new things. The veteran designer has launched a YouTube series called "Hideo Tube." For the pilot episode, released today, February 11, Kojima doesn't discuss video games, but rather movies, another one of his major passions.

During the 45-minute video (English captions available), Kojima lists off his top ten movies of 2015. He enjoyed a wide variety of films during the year, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Intern, but it was Mad Max: Fury Road that was his favorite.

The full list of Kojima's favorite movies of 2015 is below, as reported by Kotaku.

10. Star Wars: The Force Awakens

9. Fires on the Plain (released in Japan in 2015)

8. Straight Outta Compton

7. The Intern

6. Shaun the Sheep the Movie

5. Nightcrawler

4. Locke (released in Japan in 2015)

3. Kingsman: The Secret Service

2. Whiplash (released in Japan in 2015)

1. Mad Max: Fury Road

Kojima officially left Konami in December 2015, at which time he announced the formation of a new studio, Kojima Productions, and that he had reached some kind of publishing deal with Sony. Kojima's first post-Konami game is in development for PS4 and PC, though it sounds like it's very early days.

He also embarked on a world tour in search of the "newest technology," visiting studios around the globe including Quantic Dream, Guerrilla Games, and Sony Bend. Additionally, Kojima met with The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams as part of his trip.
