Joel Green is a kid who lost his battle with cancer at five years old. His story is being told in That Dragon, Cancer, a game developed by Joel's parents Ryan and Amy.

It's described on its website as "about two hours of poetic, imaginative gameplay that explores faith, hope, and love."

Joel loved pancakes, so his family will be celebrating the release of That Dragon, Cancer with a pancake party. The Green family is inviting everyone around the world to host their own pancake party as well.

That Dragon, Cancer will be available next year on January 12 for PC, Mac, and Ouya. It's now available for preorder on the game's website.

That Dragon, Cancer was shown at E3 2013 and GameSpot previewed it, saying it wasn't one of the biggest games at the show, but it might have been the most important.
