Electronic Arts announced today that it had shipped Jane's Israeli Air Force, its combat flight sim.

The title is being published under EA's Jane's Combat Simulations brand, but it was developed by Pixel Multimedia, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based development company founded by active-duty Israeli Air Force pilots. Jane's Israeli Air Force actually simulates the country's entire air force: seven jets that include the F-4; the F-4 2000, the 1990s version of the F-4 ; the F-15i; the F-16; the Lavi, Israel's next-generation fighter; the Kfir, an Israeli dual-role single-seater, used in both air and air-to-ground combat; and the Mirage III.

In the game, players complete a complement of training missions and then head to the skies for dogfights through Middle Eastern canyons at extremely low altitudes on full afterburner, similar to the tactics used and situations encountered by Israeli pilots.

Jane's Israeli Air Force sports an expected retail price of US$50.
