Hasbro Interactive has shipped the PC version of the World War II strategy board game Axis & Allies.

"We've worked closely with the board game's creator Larry Harris to ensure that the PC version is as challenging and rewarding as the original," said Tom Dusenberry, Hasbro Interactive president.

The game's action starts in the spring of 1942. Players take control of either one of the Axis powers - Germany or Japan - or one of three Allied powers - England, the Soviet Union or the United States – and then attempt to curtail the enemies' expansion through strategic attacks and defenses. This PC version uses stock World War II footage and sound effects to enhance the game's action and is playable by up to five players.
