An open beta for Microsoft's Halo Wars 2 will begin on Monday, June 13, the same day that Microsoft's E3 2016 briefing takes place. This is according to an Xbox One product page for the real-time strategy game, spotted by Mondo Xbox, that apparently went live early.

The product page states the Halo Wars 2 multiplayer beta will run for a week, ending on June 20. Whether or not the beta will also be held on PC remains to be seen. We also don't know yet what the beta will consist of.

Halo Wars 2 is a follow-up to 2009's Halo Wars. The first game was made by Ensemble Studios, which has since shut down, but the sequel is in development at Total War studio Creative Assembly.

It's due to launch this fall across Xbox One and PC. The first Halo Wars was exclusive to Xbox 360. Microsoft has not yet said if there will be cross-platform support between the two versions.

Microsoft's E3 2016 briefing is scheduled for Monday, June 13, beginning at 9:30 AM PST. For more, check out this roundup of Xbox One games we're looking forward to at the show.
