Halo 5's Next Free Update Out Now, Adds Forge Mode, New Maps, and More

Christmas isn't for another week, but 343 Industries is handing out a gift of sorts to Halo 5: Guardians players today. The developer on Wednesday released The Cartographer's Gift, the next free update for the Xbox One sci-fi shooter.

As announced previously, the free update adds Forge mode, more maps (for Arena and Warzone), new assassinations, lots of fresh Reqs, and more.
Cartographer's Gift should be available to download the next time you boot up Halo 5.

Cartographer's Gift is Halo 5's second free expansion, following Battle of Shadow and Light in November. Another free update is coming in January, and will include awesome-looking eagle weapon skins and more.
343 has promised to continue to release new content for Halo 5 through June 2016. In other news about Halo 5, 343 is now handing out daily rewards just for playing.
