Halo 5's Hog Wild expansion launches later today, introducing new Warthogs, additional armor sets, and a hybrid weapon scope, among other things. Unlike past expansions, Hog Wild does not come with any new multiplayer maps--but there is a reason for that.
Hog Wild is Halo 5's second free expansion to arrive in May, following Memories of Reach earlier in the month. You can see all of the new Reqs in the image below, while the gallery shows some in better detail.
As announced previously, Hog Wild was set to include "bigger items," but they needed "a bit more time for finishing touches and polish." As such, they will now be included with the Warzone Firefight expansion at the end of June, which 343 says is the game's largest ever.
It does not look like the Hog Wild update is out in the wild yet. We'll update this post later today when the expansion goes live on Xbox One.
Hog Wild is Halo 5's sixth free expansion. The other ones were The Battle of Shadow and Light (November), Cartographer's Gift (December), Infinity's Armor (January), Hammer Storm (February), Ghosts of Meridian (April), and Memories of Reach (May).
In other Halo news, it was reported recently that Microsoft's "Project Helix" will see future Halo games released across console and PC. On the more immediate horizon, Halo 5's Forge tools are coming to PC, but there is no matchmaking.
