Infection, featured in Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, is a zombie-themed mode in which one player, as the zombie, tries to "infect" everyone else. It is a fan-favorite mode along the lines of Grifball and Firefight.

Grifball came to Halo 5 through a previous update, while Firefight, known as Warzone Firefight for Halo 5, is coming sometime in the future.

We'll have more details on Halo 5's new Infection mode as they become available.

Halo 5's next update is called Ghosts of Meridian and it comes out this week. It is Halo 5's fifth free update following the game's launch in October 2015. The others were The Battle of Shadow and Light (November), Cartographer's Gift (December), Infinity's Armor (January), and Hammer Storm (February). This monthly streak comes to an end with Ghosts of Meridian, as it's coming out in April, missing March.

The next free Halo 5 DLC packs after Ghosts of Meridian are called Memories of Reach and Hog Wild.
