Almost exactly a year ago, developer Rockstar promised that Grand Theft Auto V will get DLC in 2014 that will expand on the game's story. With only a few days left until the end of 2014 and no new updates on story DLC since, that doesn't seem likely to happen.

However, according to Franklin's voice actor Shawn Fonteno, it sounds like it's still in development. "We're working on the DLC, downloadable content, for Grand Theft Auto V and that's real big," Fonteno said in a recent interview with Jack Thriller. "That's first on my list, to finish that up."

That's far from a confirmation, and Fonteno could just be working on a cameo in the upcoming multiplayer Heists mode (we did hear a fair bit of voice acting in the trailer), but it does make sense for Rockstar to focus their attention on story DLC now that Heists and the current-generation versions of the game are almost out of the way.

"We have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin, and Trevor's action, mayhem, and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas," Rockstar said at the time.

GTA Online Heists will be available in early 2015 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.

GTA V was originally released in September 2013 for last-generation consoles, shipping 34 million copies. The game launched for current-generation machines last month, and sales are going strong, as GTA V was the second best-selling game of November 2014 in the US.

The PC edition of GTA V launches in late January.
