Group S Challenge E3 2003 Preshow Report
Capcom reveals some new details on the gameplay of its upcoming Xbox racing game.
Capcom has released some more-specific details on its work-in-progress Xbox racing game Group S Challenge. The game will feature cars from several different real-world car manufacturers, including Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Lotus, Ford, Chevrolet, Audi, TVR, RUF, and Renault.
Some real-world locations will provide the backdrop to the action. So far, Capcom has confirmed tracks in Monaco, Tokyo, and Australia. You'll be able to adjust several parts on your car and race in many different modes. The circuit mode provides three different modes on its own, such as the game's championship mode, where you'll race on several tracks in order to prove that you're the best. The line mode is a practice mode of sorts that teaches you the best racing line for each track and awards you with points according to how well you perform. The game will also feature an arcade mode that takes the unlocking out of the picture to provide for immediate racing. A replay theater will let you watch your racing highlights.
Group S Challenge is currently scheduled for a September release.
