Got Game Entertainment has announced that it will publish DarkSpace, the massively multiplayer online space combat game created by Austin-based game developer Palestar. Palestar released the game in December for download through an online partnership with Playnet. The agreement with Got Game will let players purchase the game, which comes with a free one-month subscription, in retail stores. The retail version also incorporates a number of new features and improvements.

"We are excited to be entering the massively multiplayer world with what we believe to be a particularly well-crafted and well-run game," said Howard Horowitz, president of Got Game. "The Palestar team keeps the game fresh and evolving which was key to our publishing decision."

DarkSpace is set in a sci-fi universe filled with warring factions. Players begin the game in one of three main factions as an ensign flying a small spacecraft, and they can eventually work their way up the ranks to a grand admiral in charge of a huge capital ship.
