Activision has announced that the first title using the Star Trek license, Star Trek: Hidden Evil for the PC, has gone gold. The action adventure game places gamers on Jean Luc Picard's Enterprise as Ensign Sovok, an inexperienced officer assigned to help the Federation defeat the Romulans and safely deliver Picard to the Ba'ku planet. Hidden Evil follows the events of the last movie, Star Trek: Insurrection. Activision has yet to announce when the title will reach store shelves, but we expect it to announce that date shortly.

The company has two other Star Trek titles in the works with its Quake III Arena engine-based Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force and the real-time strategy title, Star Trek: Armada, both slated to release this winter.
