Gears of War 4 developer The Coalition has released an update for the Xbox One version that is said to fix hitching issues. No update was made available for PC, as it did not experience these issues.

"We will have a title update available to address the hitching issues that players have been experiencing in game," the developer said. "This will help iron out any user still experiencing this that has not done any of the workarounds we posted about the other day."

The Coalition posted fixes and workarounds for multiple issues, including the hitching, yesterday. It also noted that this update will temporarily disable offline LAN multiplayer between Xbox One and PC until the "next big large title update." Online cross-play, however, remains untouched and can be played without issue.

GameSpot has confirmed that the 216 MB update is now available.

Gears of War 4 received a score of 7/10 in GameSpot's review. The game is a Play Anywhere title, so if you buy on one platform, you get access to both.

Tech outlet Digital Foundry analyzed the Xbox One and PC versions and compared them in a video. It found that both are quite good, with the Xbox One stacking up surprisingly well to the PC version.
