Nintendo puts a little color into the Game Boy this October with two games at launch.

Comments

Nintendo has set a release date for the Game Boy Color in Japan. It will hit Japanese shelves on October 21, retailing for 8900 yen (about US$61 at current exchange rates). If the purple color of the system hasn't struck your fancy, you'll be pleased to know that the machine will be available in a total of six colors: red, blue, purple, clear purple, yellow, and clear. No word yet on whether or not these colors will be available when the system launches November 23 here in the U.S.

Game Boy Color will play Super Game Boy games using the SGB palette.

Nintendo announced two games will be available around the time of the launch - Wario Land 2 (which hasn't been released in Japan yet, even though it's been out here for a while) and Tetris DX.
