FreeSpace 2 source code available

Illinois-based game developer Volition has released the source code for FreeSpace 2, its award-winning space simulation game released in 1999. The uncompiled source code makes it possible for users to alter the game and create custom content. The source code is available for download from the links below.

Since its release, FreeSpace 2 has been the space combat sim against which all other games of that type are judged. The game won numerous awards, including GameSpot's sci-fi simulation of the year award for 1999. For more information, take a look at our full review of the game.
