Fox Sports Buys Time - Big Time

A US$2 million push will proceed the launch of Fox Interactive's Fox Sports Golf '99 and Sports Soccer '99.

Proceeding Fox Sports Interactive's unveiling of Fox Sports Golf '99 and Fox Sports Soccer '99 in June will be a US$2 million dollar marketing and advertising campaign. Ads will appear in a variety of print, Internet, and television media.

Fox Sports Golf '99 will include three real-world courses: Kiawah Island (host of the 1997 World Cup of Golf), Carnoustie Links (upcoming site of the 1999 British Open), and The Oxfordshire (home of the Benson & Hedges International Open).

A number of fantasy courses will also be included. Eighty distinctive golfers will be at gamers' beck and call. And announcer Peter Alliss providing the commentary.

Fox Sports Soccer '99 will include 64 international teams and 64 league teams from the United States, Canada, and an additional 32 World Cup nations. Commentary will be provided in both English and Spanish.

"We have developed two of the most advanced and entertaining sports simulation games on the market and intend to leverage the marketing and distribution muscle of the Fox family to the fullest extent possible." said Jon Richmond, president of Fox Interactive. If you watch the Fox network, you'll see an awful lot of computer game ads.
