First look: ESPN X Games Skateboarding PS2
Konami takes a stab at the skateboarding genre with ESPN X Games Skateboarding for the PlayStation 2.
Konami has released further details on and the first screenshots from ESPN X Games Skateboarding for the Sony PlayStation 2. The game will feature three tournament stages, including a large street course and a half-pipe that will be based on the one used in the 2000 San Francisco X Games. The game also features six action stages where players can skate through urban locations such as New York City and Los Angeles. Here players will have to dodge traffic and pedestrians while grinding on handrails and performing other improvised tricks. Players can also go head-to-head in the two-player split-screen mode or hone their skills in the practice mode.
The game will include 12 authentic pro skateboarders and 64 individual boards. Of course, no extreme sports game would be complete without a licensed soundtrack, and ESPN X Games Skateboarding features 11 tracks from artists such as Linkin Park, New Found Glory, and Voodoo Glow Skulls, among others.
ESPN X Games Skateboarding will be released for the PS2 in August.
