Currently in development at Majorem, Ballerium is described as a persistent massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game, and, according to the developers, it will be the first game of its kind when it's released. Set in a fantasy world, Ballerium is being designed with an enhanced persistency feature that, in addition to meaning that the world itself is permanently active even when players aren't present, will allow players to issue their units commands to be carried out when they're not actually playing. Majorem has also stated that the number of players supported in a game of Ballerium is potentially infinite, although their current estimate is in the region of a few hundred thousand.

The world of Ballerium will be inhabited by seven sentient species collectively known as the seven children of the sun. In place of action or magic points, players will use sunpower points to perform actions, and the rate at which these points replenish will be dependent on the race chosen and which sun phase the game is in when the players are online.

As players explore the world of Ballerium, they'll visit cities inhabited by non-player characters and will encounter veteran heroes known as quest masters. These characters will often have lucrative job offers for players, although what kind of missions might be available is unclear at this time.

Further details on Ballerium are scarce at present, but we'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, you might like to check out the official Ballerium Web site, which, among other things, has its own forum dedicated to the game.
