First BlizzCon dates picked

Blizzard Entertainment today said it would hold "a celebration" of its top-selling franchises in late October. The exact Southern California location for the first-ever BlizzCon is still to be determined (it will take place somewhere near Blizzard's headquarters in Orange County). The dates, however, have been picked: October 28 and 29, 2005. Panels composed of Blizzard developers are promised, as are Warcraft III and Starcraft competitions for both pro gamers and amateurs.
