This trailer follows a series of promo videos that have been released over the past few weeks. These featurettes provided a behind-the-scenes look at the movie, while one clip showcased a spectacular showdown between Kong and the island's terrifying Skullcrawlers.

Kong: Skull Island is directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and is released on March 10. It stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L Jackson, John C Reilly, Corey Hawkins, and John Goodman.

The movie is part of an ongoing monster movie series that kicked off with 2014's Godzilla. The next entry will be Godzilla: King of Monsters, which is expected in 2019. Last month, Krampus director Michael Dougherty was confirmed as director, with Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown reported to be part of the cast.

In other news, Skull Island director Vogt-Roberts recently confirmed that his Metal Gear movie is still in the works.
