Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn hits PS4 in April 2014
Square Enix confirms launch window for PlayStation 4 version of MMO.
The PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will launch in April 2014, Square Enix announced today.
The massively multiplayer online role-playing game's launch will be preceded by a beta period starting on February 22, 2014 in North America and Japan. That is the same day the PS4 launches in Japan.
A Realm Reborn originally launched for PC and PlayStation 3 in August behind a generally solid critical reception, though server issues plagued the game at launch. PS3 players will be able to transfer their characters to the PS4 version for free.
In November, Square Enix boosted its financial outlook after more than 1.5 million players had registered for the game. For more on A Realm Reborn, check out GameSpot's review of the PC version.
