Look out Rayman! Ubi Soft's next Dreamcast platformer looks simply amazing and we've got hands-on impressions to tell you so.

Ubi Soft was showing a small playable version of their latest Dreamcast platformer at their booth at this year's E3. While only a few small segments of the game were playable, it was obvious Evil Twin has the potential to outshine Rayman 2.

The story of Evil Twin revolves around a small, orphaned boy who find himself trapped in his own nightmares. He soon learns that he has to save the freakish creatures that inhabit his nightmares from an even bigger, more evil threat. Not much else is known about the storyline.

I got the chance to play a small segment of the game and found the controls to be very similar to those of Rayman 2. You use the analog stick to move around in the environment, and can lock onto the enemies in a style similar to Rayman. The main character is pretty weak in his standard, boyish form but he has the ability to transform into a superhero version of himself. In this version he can fly, shoot fireballs, and do all other sorts of superhero-like attacks. In one you jump up and hover while you create this huge fireball, then toss it at your enemy. In another you call a lightning bolt from the sky and it strikes your enemy. Both these effects are very cool.

The graphics in Evil Twin are just as lush, if not more so, than those found in Rayman 2. The environments that I saw were vivid and detailed, with a great use of color and textures. This game is just pretty.

Hopefully I'll get the chance to learn more info about this game as development progresses.
