Strategy First has announced an official sequel to Europa Universalis. The sequel expands on the original by letting players select any nation, rather then just the original eight European powers found in the first game. The game spans more than 400 years of history and includes special events like the 100 Years War and the Napoleonic era. Players will also be given more control over their country's development, and additional bargaining tools will be available during times of war or peace. There are also plans to include new units, new religions, and a full scenario editor.

Europa Universalis II is scheduled for release this winter. For more information on the original Europa Universalis, take a look at our previous coverage .
