Empires' Worldwide Appeal
Microsoft claims its Age of Empires has sold thousands and thousands.
Microsoft is claiming that Age of Empires (developed for the company by Ensemble Studios) has sold more than 850,000 copies in 55 countries since its release in October of last year - and it has been the best-selling strategy game in the US, UK, Germany, and France since its release (it's currently ranked as the number-one-selling strategy title by PC Data).
Microsoft says that this "establishes Age of Empires as one of the hottest new PC games during a period when sequels have dominated the best-seller lists."
