Eidos reveals Blood Omen 2

Eidos Interactive has released the first screenshots from and information on Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 for the Sony PlayStation 2. In this sequel, players once again assume the role of the vampire Kain and adventure in a third-person point of view. The game's story picks up where the first game left off. With the world of Nosgoth in turmoil, his brethren slain, and his own dark powers stripped, Kain must fight to reclaim his rule from a mysterious and powerful figure.

As Kain, players have command over a large arsenal of skills and attacks. Players can execute various combinations of attack moves and combos, use special moves, jump on rooftops, and even control the minds of his enemies. The game's developer, Crystal Dynamics, also hopes to add new AI routines in this sequel. NPCs such as peasants react realistically as they flee from enemies and remain unaware as Kain walks through crowds with weapons hidden. Additionally, in typical Legacy of Kain style, Kain must adventure through vast Gothic environments, and his travels are tied together by engaging cutscenes.

Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 will be released for the PS2 this fall.
