Electronic Arts has shipped Knockout Kings 2001 for the Sony PlayStation 2. The game features over 40 boxers, including contemporary males and female fighters and several boxing legends. Several of these fighters are exclusive to the game and they are Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar De La Hoya, Lennox Lewis, and Shane Mosley. Each fighter's strength, weight, height, speed, reach, and stamina are factored into the game, and many of the prominent boxers have their own signature moves and fighting styles.

The game's hip-hop soundtrack includes such artists as Tony Touch, Dilated Peoples, Tash, and the Black Eyed Peas. The announcing and color commentary is from Al Bernstein, Max Kellerman, and Teddy Atlas.
