Xbox 360 gamers may download Devil May Cry 4 pics and theme
Capcom might be revealing more of the next Devil May Cry game during this week's E3 Media and Business Summit, but eager gamers can already hit the Xbox Live Marketplace to get new gamer pics and a theme from the upcoming game, reports Microsoft's Larry Hryb on his Major Nelson blog. The picture pack sells for 100 Microsoft Points ($1.25) and contains five pictures covering the game's three main characters: Dante, Nero, and Kyrie. The "DMC4 on Xbox 360 Celebration Theme" is 150 Microsoft Points ($1.87) and contains another five pictures of the characters. The game's trailer from 2006's Tokyo Game Show can also be downloaded for free on Live.

All-Pro Football 2K8 goes gold
Electronic Arts' longtime rival 2K Sports is ready to jump back into the football fray for the first time since EA acquired an exclusive NFL license. 2K Sports' football title has gone gold and is due to hit stores on July 17. Coming out for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, the game will feature retired stars of the game, including Jerry Rice, John Elway, and Barry Sanders, and is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and older.

Jason Spezza to be NHL 2K8's cover star
Canadian-born Jason Spezza, first-line center for the Ottawa Senators, will be the spokesperson and cover sportsman for NHL 2K8, 2K Sports announced today. In addition to helping his team reach the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in its recent history this year, Spezza represented Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships at age 16--only the third ever Canadian player to do so at such a young age. NHL 2K8 is due for release on September 3.

Mythos enters closed beta
Flagship Studios' massively multiplayer online role-playing game Mythos has entered the closed beta stage. The closed beta starts today and will be rolled out in multiple phases. Gamers who are interested in taking part can sign up at the game's official Web site. Mythos is a fantasy action role-playing game, which will be free to download and play. Gamers can pick one of three races--human, satyr, or goblin--and undertake quests and hunt for gold, gems, armor, and weapons.
