Swords & Sorcery Studios has announced that it will publish the Dungeons & Dragons Warcraft Role-Playing Game in cooperation with Wizards of the Coast. The game includes references to the events of Warcraft III and will feature player characters based on the Warcraft races, including humans, dwarves, night elves, orcs, and taurens. Blizzard's creative director, Chris Metzen, is coordinating with the designers of the pen-and-paper game to keep it faithful to the PC games' concepts.

"We look forward to giving our fans a new perspective on the scope and depth of the Warcraft world while also introducing pen-and-paper gamers to a new universe," said Metzen.

The D&D Warcraft RPG will be the first game setting available for the revised editions of the main D&D handbooks that Wizards of the Coast will release in July. The game is scheduled for release this summer.
