DLC pass for Xbox One racer Forza 5 gets extended with two extra packs

Car Pass for Turn 10's next-generation racing game will now include two more car packs featuring 20 cars at no extra cost.

Forza Motorsport 5 developer Turn 10 announced today in a post on the Xbox Wire that as a "thank you" to fans, the studio is extending the duration of the Xbox One game's Car Pass to include two additional car packs. Previously, this month's Meguiar's Car Pack was expected to be the final batch of post-release content for the game.

For current owners of the $50 Car Pass, this means that you'll receive the June and July car packs at no extra cost. The two car packs include a total of 20 new cars, bringing the total number of Forza 5 DLC cars to 90.

Turn 10 typically releases new monthly content for Forza 5 on the first Tuesday of every month, but the "June" pack will be moved up to a release next Friday, May 30. There's no word yet on what cars will be included with this pack, or July's, but Turn 10 says more details will be shared in the days and weeks ahead.

Forza 5--which runs in 1080p at 60fps--was an Xbox One launch title, arriving alongside Microsoft's new console last November. The game has sold over 1 million copies, and you can currently buy a special Xbox One bundle that includes a system and a copy of the game for $500. For more on Forza 5, check out GameSpot's review.

What wheels work with this? What wheels are you using? The main reason I have not upgraded to the next gen systems.

@Triton I was just gonna ask that. I was looking at race wheels for the 360, and was wondering if they work for xbox one. They should, it's just a USB connection.

@themc_7 @Triton Pretty sure the 360 racing wheel doesn't work. Not sure why though, I just remember reading about it.

While this is nice an all, it still doesn't excuse Turn 10 for leaving out a ton of cars that were in the previous game, and selling them as DLC. It just comes up as really greedy, regardless of whether or not they were finished before F5 launched. Rushing a product is never good.

Racing sims seem to attract more micro transactions than any other genre lol, GT6 with prices like £100 per car!?? what the hell lol? and I though MS was bad for being greedy. Forza 5 with it's multiple DLCs and car packs as well all costing about £100 to get the lot even the season passes doesn't save much, it's a shame because after spending 200+ hours on this game it's a master piece in Graphics, car physics, enemy AI, online, and most important it's fun.

Great game but the amount of money you need to spend on it is terrible but some will point out, "oh but but but you don't need to buy em", trust me you do, on single player not so much but to compete online unless you have 100s of hours of spare time on your hands you do.

The two console companies offer nothing but silly gimmicks and microtransaction schemes in their games and that's all that they have in store for this generation. The console way of making, advertising and selling games is so old and outdated because it all revolves around making mounds of money and screwing the customer with a repeating cycle for every new game release.

Forza Motorsport 4 was the last good game in the series in my opinion. Honestly Microsoft should have given Turn 10 at least another year in development. I mean "Dedicated Servers", crisp graphics and all of the Top Gear UK presenters describing the cars are nice touches but with the lack of storefront, the lack of auction house, the ridiculous mircotransactions and the double dipping on DLC cars ((Same could be said about Forza Horizon)) its really disappointing. Hopefully they'll have better luck in Forza Motorsport 6 but for now Project Cars seems to be the racing sim to go for.

This is one of the reasons Iv abandoned Xbox. Utter rip of scheme. Loved previous forzas. This is a disgrace

Name another platform that doesn't have DLC.

@rasterror

Weak argument. DLC schemes still suck.

it doesn't matter that they infect every platform.

It was a disgrace, but they fixed the scam of having to buy the car twice.

It's a brand new console. Of course they aren't gonna have all the features of Forza 4. Everything they built before for the 360 no longer applies. They had to start over from scratch. People need to put their expectations in check.

It's nice to have the OPTION to add content to games so you can extend the amount of gameplay you get out of it. It's when that concept is abused, and content is cut from the game to be sold afterwards as dlc, that ticks people off.

@markg1150 To each his own , have fun with your other choice, but since you mentioned you are a Forza fan, you missed out big time with Forza5, which is the first game in the series to run on dedicated servers online, and the community these days is great.

@markg1150 It's the first game on  a new platform and a launch title. I'm sure the next Forza will include more content.

Sweet!! I've only downloaded 2 of the packs so far anyways. I'm way behind. Gotta play this weekend and download the rest of my cars.
