Diesel and Infogrames Deal

Infogrames formally signs Diesel as the primary sponsor of its upcoming PlayStation game, Driver 2.

Comments

Infogrames has confirmed previous GameSpot reports by officially announcing that it has reached an agreement with worldwide apparel company Diesel to provide virtual clothing designs for characters in Driver 2. Additionally, Diesel billboards, bumper stickers, and stores will appear throughout the game's environments. Diesel will in turn promote Driver 2 in its retail stores worldwide via customized floor displays, including Driver 2 kiosks housing playable demos of the game.

"Driver 2 has established tremendous brand recognition and success within a highly desirable demographic," said Martin Currie, director of marketing for Infogrames. "Our cross promotion with Diesel is ideal for both companies, as it allows them to reach a key audience where they play and opens up a completely untapped vertical market for ourselves."

Also, as previously reported, British menswear Designer of the Year recipient Ozwald Boateng will create virtual clothing for the game's hero, Tanner. Driver 2 for the Sony PlayStation will ship on November 14.
